Sometimes an artist creates something so beautifully simple that it takes your breath away…. literally. (hack line – couldn’t help it) Artist Jason de Caires Taylor creates life-size cement sculptures of people and submerges them into the waters of South America. As time passes the sculptures become part of the underwater landscape and slowly become artificial reefs ripe with marine life. The process of experiencing artwork out of a traditional gallery and underwater is described with intimately vivid detail on his site. Absolutely incredible execution merging art, life and the wild seas into an ever-evolving textured aesthetic that will hopefully stand the test of time. Although, I wouldn’t hold our breath. (Dammit! I did it again) Wow.

Sorry I haven’t been posting in a while!

theventuraa:

Coursework deadlines are tomorrow and I’ve been working my ass off + I’m really fucking ill, with everything I could’ve caught - right before my exams.

Hopefully after May 23rd I’ll be posting as per usual. :)

Zoom Passive Aggressive Notes
There seems to be a trend towards not confronting our problems.  People are, more and more, avoiding conflict and becoming passive aggressive in how they deal with it.  Fortunately, sometimes that passive aggressive way of dealing with problems is funny, and sometimes those funny passive aggressive notes people like to leave behind get photographed.  Which is your favorite passive aggressive note.

Zoom DIY Oreo-Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

While browsing around some of my favorite cooking blogs a couple of weeks ago, I came across the most outstanding image: an Oreo-stuffed chocolate chip cookie. Could it be possible? My 2 favorite cookies sandwiched together to make 1 glorious confection? It is possible indeed. I know this because I tried it myself last Sunday. (And yes, they taste just as delicious as they look.) I used Picky Palate’s simple recipe and was finished with the entire process within an hour. Note: These are serious cookies! I like to refer to them as the “1-and-done” cookies because 1 is about all you can eat at a time. If you love cookies just as much as I do, then follow along below to create your own Cookie-Monster treat.

Zoom American Psychosis

The United States, locked in the kind of twilight disconnect that grips dying empires, is a country entranced by illusions. It spends its emotional and intellectual energy on the trivial and the absurd. It is captivated by the hollow stagecraft of celebrity culture as the walls crumble. This celebrity culture giddily licenses a dark voyeurism into other people’s humiliation, pain, weakness and betrayal. Day after day, one lurid saga after another, whether it is Michael Jackson, Britney Spears or John Edwards, enthralls the country … despite bank collapses, wars, mounting poverty or the criminality of its financial class.

Zoom Coffee Joulies use phase change material to make your cup’s temp just right

People who drink coffee know how much it sucks when you grab a cup from your local coffee shop, take sip, and recoil from the burning hot liquid you need so badly to start your day. If only there was a way to cool your coffee down quickly, without sticking ice cubes in it, or leaving the lid off for 5 minutes before you can take another sip… Fortunately, two guys named Dave have created a solution to this common problem with a product called Coffee Joulies.
